I remember as a kid stopping for coconuts around the Savannah. The vendor was a master of the cutlass (machete), and could open one up in no time. He chopped off the top and poured out the coconut water, then split the nut in half so you could scoop out the wonderful jelly. He even made a makeshift spoon by chopping a piece off of the side.

Can't say that I recall seeing a bunch of naked kids around him though....
